As the Waste2BioComp project comes to a close, we’re proud to reflect on the breakthroughs achieved in developing sustainable, bio-based alternatives to traditional fossil-derived components.
From shoe insoles and flexible packaging to sportswear textiles and printed substrates, our demonstrators have proven that bio-based materials can match, and even surpass, conventional benchmarks, all while being non-toxic and validated in real environments.
💡 Through smart manufacturing processes like extrusion, thermoforming, spray coating, and inkjet printing, we’ve shown how innovation can scale sustainably.
♻️ And we’ve gone further — incorporating end-of-life strategies and investing in training and upskilling to ensure that this transition isn’t just technological, but human and systemic.
